RIGA – One man has been shot dead at Riga’s largest movie theatre, Forum Cinemas, following an altercation about popcorn eating.
The attacker, born 1983, reportedly had a brief argument with the man seated next to him, born 1968, over the latter’s loudly eating popcorn during a showing of “Black Swan”. When the movie ended the younger man pulled out a legally registered firearm and shot dead the other man.
Other visitors then called an ambulance and the police while the perpetrator waited to be arrested. The shooter was a graduate of the police academy and held a doctorate in law from the University of Latvia.
